The highly anticipated end of the year awards

Unfortunately, I decided that I would do my end of season awards, which means the season is over. Also, no one actually gets anything for winning an award, other than a good feeling, I hope.
Men:
MVP: Greg Carey
I know this comes as a huge surprise to everyone, Greg Carey the SLU MVP. And honestly, Jeremy Wick has quite a case in his own right, what with his power play skill and his 3 zone, well rounded game. But, its Greg Carey. He lead the ECAC in points, was second in the country, and for a SLU team that was offense first, its tough to say that one of the best offensive dynamos in NCAA hockey isn't the MVP.
Rookie of the year: Gavin Bayreuther
A strong case can be made for Matt Carey, but what it boils down to is the fact that Gavin is a defenseman. He put up 36 points this year from the blue line, worked the point on the number one power play unit, spent a good chunk of the year alongside Justin Baker on the top pair, and still managed to finish a plus 2. Its safe to say I'm looking to seeing him play next year.
Most underrated player: Jeremy Wick
The guy does everything. 12 power play goals, a shorthanded goal, big penalty killing minutes, a hat trick on senior night, a leader in the locker room, wore the "A" on his jersey all year, but still, the spotlight shines on Greg and Matt Carey. You can't exactly fault anyone, the brothers are electric, but Wick was just as important.
Best Twitter handle: Woody Hudson (@Morning_woody13)
This is pure genius, and demonstrates the creativity Woody often displays on the ice. It includes his real name, so you're sure you have the right person, while also providing a laugh to the unsuspecting searcher.
Women:
MVP: Carmen MacDonald
This was an easy choice. A literal brick wall between the pipes for the majority of this year, MacDonald was 13-13-3 this year, with a 2.01 GAA and a .932 save percentage.  There wasn't much debate in my mind as to who got MVP.
Rookie of the Year: Alex Moore
All three freshmen played fantastic this year, and the award could really go to any of them, or all of them. It came down to the stats for me, especially the +/- category. Alex was a -10, best of the three rookies, and also put up 15 points from the blue line, having to play defense unexpectedly. She stepped into the role, and played fantastic.
Most underrated player: Jess Hon and Kayla Raniwsky
I couldn't narrow down to just one, so I'm going with a tie. So much can be said about the top line with Rylee Smith, Abbey McRae, and Brooke Webster, that other players are sometimes skipped over. Hon brings a solid scoring threat from what is technically considered the third line, but is also very important to the Saints penalty kill. Raniwsky is a great secondary scoring option, and at points in the season, her line, with Jenna Marks and Kailee Heidersbach, was more dangerous than the top line. Another choice for this could easily be Dayle Wilkinson.
Best Twitter Handle: Giulia Mazzochi (@ItalnStallion28)
This is a clear cut winner. She manages to incorporate her nationality, while also providing comic value. This combination of real world seriousness and humor is a powerhouse twitter handle.
And, of course, lets not forget the equipment managers of both teams, Nick Bayruns for the men and Amanda Boulier for the women. In all seriousness, they are an oft unappreciated, but massively important part of both teams.
