Greg Carey has been considered the top NHL free agent in college hockey for the whole year, and there was a lot of noise on that front today.
-Although it seemed fairly certain that he would sign with the Minnesota Wild, it recently surfaced that other teams initially thought out of the chase were back in, including Philadelphia, according to Mike McMahon of College Hockey News. Other teams may also be back in the hunt, but I don't know which. No official announcements have been made.
-Younger brother Matt also appears to be on the way out, although that also has not been confirmed. Also per Mike McMahon, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Edmonton, and Chicago all have made offers to Matt.
-There was also a rumor at one point today that the brothers would sign with the same team. I haven't head much on that since it surfaced. Based on current info, that means either Philly or Minnesota, provided they remain as they only two teams the brothers both have offers from. Again, this is total speculation on my part.
