2013 Women's recap, and looking forward to 2014

The Saints women's team has had a fairly solid year thus far, and while they sit at under .500 overall, the ladies are tied for third in the ECAC with a 4-2-1 record, something really positive to look at coming into the second half of the year.  Unlike the men's team, which has been consistently plagued by defensive woes, the women have been sort of Jekyll and Hyde so far, allowing 4+ goals three times, while holding opponents to one goal six times. Defensive improvement isn't necessarily the key, rather, consistent smart play from everyone should be enough to help out on the defensive side.
Again, unlike the men's team, goaltending hasn't been an issue.  Guilia Mazzochi has played five games, and hasn't won any, but the games haven't been total blowouts.  Carmen MacDonald has been outstanding of late, so the goaltending shouldn't be of any concern.
As far as scoring goes, the two senior defenseman, Dayle Wilkinson and Mel Desrochers have 11 and 18 points respectively, and Rylee Smith has 15 points.  She also sits at 47 career goals, three shy of the 50 goal mark. Freshman Brooke Webster was ECAC rookie of the month in November, and has 13 points, while Alex Moore and Abbey McRae both have 11.  Scoring hasn't been a consistent issue, except for the BC and Clarkson series'. Any other low scoring games for the Saints have been close games anyway.
To me, there haven't been any major issues with the team, but I did start watching about halfway through the year, so I may be missing something. Just a solid team defense scheme along with the good goalscoring and dependable goaltending will make this Saint team a competitive team in the ECAC.
