Women's: Quinnipiac and Princeton previews

This weekend, the women are back in action against ECAC opponent, after a loss to McGill in exhibition, 3-2.  St. Lawrence is currently ties with Quinnipiac and Princeton for third in the ECAC with 8 points, so a strong weekend here would be huge in terms of the ECAC standings, but also in general for the confidence of the team following an up and down start.  Both Quinnipiac and Princeton score more goals per game the SLU, and also own better GAA than the Saints.  St. Lawrence holds an edge in power play percentage over Princeton, but QU takes the cake in that department.  In all honestly, SLU doesn't hold a significant statistical advantage over either PU or QU, so in order to take away 4 points this weekend, the Saints will need outstanding team defense and really solid goaltending, especially against Quinnipiac, when Kelly Babstock brings her outstanding offensive talents on the ice, which have already resulted in 21 points this year. Dayle Wilkinson and Mel Desrochers will play important roles in shutting down the top offensive players of Princeton and Quinnipiac, as they have all year.  If the defense plays well, then SLU should be able to stop the offense well enough to walk away with two wins this weekend in some very important ECAC games.
