Who needs a penalty kill?

SLU defeated RIT tonight 5-3 in the first of two games this weekend in Rochester, finally getting back into the win column after two home losses.
RIT opened the scoring less than a minute into the game, but Jeremy Wick scored on the power play 7:34 in to tie it, before Brian Ward was able to put SLU up with a power play goal of his own in the second period.  Ward fired a shot past the RIT goalie from the right faceoff circle after a nice pass from Pat Doherty.
RIT tied it with their own power play tally, before Gavin Bayreuther found the back on the net, you guessed it, on the power play, with a top corner wrister that beat Ruby.
Doherty scored early in the third, which would ultimately be the game winner, but later that period freshman Alex Dahl, who's smart play and sacrifice often go unnoticed, scored his first career collegiate goal.  Also not to be forgotten was the play that Trevor Hills, SLU freshman playing in his first game of the season made. He hit an RIT player, taking the puck from him, before sending the puck to Dahl, who tipped it in.  RIT scored late, but the game was all but over by then.
Tyler Parks made 22 saves in his second start of the year. He remains undefeated as a starter, and could logically start tomorrow in the second game of the series.  The six foot six freshman has played really well this year, and every time I see him play, I feel more and more comfortable about the goaltending situation for the next three years.
Faceoff is the same time tomorrow in Rochester.
