MacDonald steals the show

Today, SLU's women's hockey team faced off against the Quinnipiac Bobcats and their potent offense.  But today, the star of the game was Saints goalie Carmen MacDonald, who made 46 saves in the game, a 1-1 tie.  In all honesty, I was expecting this game to be really high scoring affair, but MacDonald and the Quinnipiac goalie Laden kept the game close.  St. Lawrence scored first, as Mel Desrochers fired a shot on net that landed on Rylee Smith's stick, who buried the first goal of the game. Smith now is just 3 goals away from 50 in her career.  Quinnipiac was able to tie it up, as the ever dangerous Kelly Babstock scored a power play goal after a great set of passes.  From there on out, the goalies put on a show, especially MacDonald, who made almost twice as many saves as Laden.  SLU snagged another point in ECAC play, and Clarkson took it to Princeton 7-0, so if SLU can beat Princeton tomorrow, they'll be in great position in the ECAC.  Faceoff against Princeton is 3:00
