Brown Preview

After a strong performance that resulted in a tie with defending national champions Yale, SLU faces off with Brown tonight at 7:00.  Brown dropped their first ECAC contest to a surprising Clarkson team last night, 4-3, but through 3 games, they've scored 12 goals.  That means the defense will need to be sharp tonight, and leave less of the work to the goaltender, whether that be Weninger, who made 34 saves last night, or Tyler Parks, who looked strong in SLU's win over Northeastern. Brown also has taken a lot of penalties, and their PK is less than stellar thus far, much like it was last year so I think, like last night, the key for SLU will be to get pressure on the power play, and score some goals with the man advantage, to put less pressure on the defense.
Last year SLU tied Brown in Providence 3-3, and edged them at Appleton 3-2.  Tonight they'll look to get their first ECAC win of the season.
