Northeastern Preview

This weekend, the 3-1-0 Saints host the 20th ranked Northeastern Huskies for a two game series.  The Huskies are undefeated, but that being said, they have played Alabama-Huntsville and Holy Cross thus far, not exactly a challenging schedule.  SLU has had a slightly tougher 4 games, playing two series against UMaine and Ferris State.
For SLU to come away with two win this weekend, the key again is to shut down Northeastern's offense, much like with Maine.  Kevin Roy is one of the better players in college hockey, just like Devin Shore. Goaltending and defense aren't exactly the Huskies' strengths, so the ability to stop the offense will expose the weaknesses.
Another key for the Saints is to get Greg Carey back on the score sheet.  With two goals through four games, its clear that any team who still hadn't figured out by the end of last year that they need to watch him sure has figured it out now.  And both his goals came against Maine in the second game, and one as an empty netter.
Coming away with two wins this weekend would be a great way to rebound from a tough loss against Ferris on Saturday, and could get SLU a spot in the top 20 rankings.
Both games are at Appleton, 7:00 P.M. puck drop.
