No introduction needed

I've been on campus at SLU for about a month now, and I'm pretty used to everything now.  I know where all the buildings are, when the library opens and closes, and when open hockey happens at Appleton.  But today, something is different.  Everyone is always happy at SLU, but there's just something not usual today.  There's a buzz about campus, an excitement that can only mean one thing... Hockey.
Its an excitement that started building on March 17, 2013, the day after SLU was eliminated from the ECAC tournament by the eventual National Champions, Yale.  In the offseason, the coaches schemed and planned, recruited and plotted.  They have new plays to try out, and new players to try them.
The players have been working out, getting bigger, stronger, and faster.  The freshman have become acclimated to the college hockey lifestyles, and now, all that work is about to be put to the test.  But the teams success is not guaranteed... It must be earned, worked for, fought for.
The players and coaches are ready to fight for it, the fans and alumni, faculty, and fans across the country are all ready to cheer them on.  The buzz on campus is growing louder and louder, slowly becoming a roar, a roar that will be heard echoing throughout Appleton Arena later tonight.  There will be hits, shots on goal, goals scored, saves made.  But more importantly, there will only be one winner.  Maine or St. Lawrence is the question, and it will be answered tonight.
It's opening night up here in the North Country.
Are you ready for some hockey?
