Earlier this week, it was announced that Hannah Miller will serve as captain for the 2017-18 season, while Nadine Edney will serve as the lone assistant captain. Last season the Saints were captained By Kirsten Padalis, while Brooke Webster and Alex Moore wore the "A".

Miller joined the team halfway through her rookie season, beginning in 2015, and has recorded 84 points in 92 career games. She's coming off a breakout season in which she finished third on the team and 12th nationally with 48 points on 15 goals and 33 assists. She was part of the nations top scoring line with Webster and fellow rising senior Kennedy Marchment, and will continue to carry the offensive load with Marchment on the top line.

Edney, a rising junior, doubled her rookie output last year as a sophomore, posting 14 points, including 10 goals, which fifth best for the Saints. She brings tenacity and speed to the Saints lineup, and is especially important as a defensive forward and on the penalty kill.

Miller and Edney will form the leadership core for a team looking to continue the success they experienced last year, earning their first at-large bid to the NCAA tournament since the 2008-2009 season, the first under head coach Chris Wells. The Saints won 26 games in 2016-17, and rose as high as third in the USCHO poll, while holding on to the top spot in the PairWise rankings for more than half of the season.

The Saints welcome a strong rookie class this year, and have several players poised for breakout seasons. They return one of the top goaltenders in NCAA hockey, Grace Harrison, and lead by Miller and Edney, should again challenge for the ECAC regular season and tournament titles, in addition to a spot in the NCAA tournament.
